Bettina Nava elected to the ACF Board

The Arizona Community Foundation Board of Directors recently elected Bettina Nava to the board. Nava is a Partner at Nexus Strategy Group, a communications firm with expansive expertise in communications, public affairs, and strategic planning. She helps to lead the firm’s community and business community relations, with a focus on strategic partnerships and coalition building.

“Bettina Nava’s extensive background in community relations will be of tremendous value to the Arizona Community Foundation,” said Leezie Kim, chair of the ACF Board of Directors. “She will be a great addition to our board.”

Nava also worked for the McCain 2008 presidential team and previously served as State Director for Arizona Senator John McCain. Nava also worked for Governor Fife Symington as Director of Community Relations and Boards and Commissions.

Nava currently serves on the board of the Phoenix Art Museum and is a member of Greater Phoenix Leadership. She previously sat on the board of the Arizona Lodging and Tourism Association, serving as their chair of government affairs. She also previously served on the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce board and was named the 2012 Woman of the Year. Nava also received the community service award from Valle Del Sol in 2014. Other past board involvement includes Valley of the Sun United Way, Childsplay, and the MISS Foundation.

Nava resides in Phoenix and is the proud mom of three remarkable children and two precocious dachshunds. A graduate of the University of Arizona, Nava holds degrees in journalism and religious studies.

Arizona Community Foundation Board members serve three-year terms, renewable up to two times.
